hi, i’m john! i’m an artist, photographer, and curator from Providence, Rhode Island. my practice exists in a mixed-media sphere that combines elements of experimental photography, textile arts, printmaking, and installation with an emphasis on layers and textures. always interested in poetics, i explore diverse themes including migration, memory, mortality, and queer expression.

i have a b.a. in studio arts and biology from Macalester College. for the past two years, i have been an artist-in-residence at Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, IT. i am a cofounder and photographer of the Florence and Berlin-based fashion photography and cultural collective, Noir Lens Studios.
